Famous words indeed. Richard's openings monologue in that play is one of my favourite Shakespeare monologues. Absolutely brilliant piece of writing. I learned it by heart ages ago. In this age of technology and the internet, I fear not too many people do this any more, but a lifetime has passed and it still gives me great pleasure to recite in my head a Shakespearean monologue when waiting for a bus or something. It's literature that you always have with you, no matter what.

But anyway, I believe in chess the horse is called a knight?
