Could be they're actually using a digital guide. The Rijksmuseum here in Amsterdam also uses these "multimedia tours", as they call them. You can play them on a headset from the Museum or install their app on tablet or phone. It's interactive and will lead you through the rooms and give you in depth stories about the exhibits, the artists, etc. So that could be the case here too.
