I've had both the Canon and Sigma. Both were great, are well built, focus fast and are sharp. I prefer the colors out of the Canon as the Sigma had a slight warm cast. So I own the Canon.

So you have the 17-40? What body are you using with it?

NOT the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 if you want to fix the camera on a wing or something like that!

Then I'd say Canon 10-22 if it's in your price range. As pointed out, there are other good choices, might want to research this site a little more and check out some of the lens test sites such as photozone.de or slrgear.com
