Just after a local car meet, we went up to some twisty roads to have some uphill fun.

Nice lighting & car! But not a great car shot IMO!

What makes it not a good car shot? I liked it because it somewhat captured the essence of the STi as well, being up in the 'hills'.

maybe the background is alittle dull? doesn't do the car justice... I love that car either way tho, saving up for it.

I like the shot. However i think i would have been better if shot at a lower angle. Clone out the pole on the left.
Another thing to remember about car shots is to let the wheel face the camera, not the tire.
The WRX STi is the ultimate drivers car. (i know, i have a WRB one ;) )

Minus the piles or rock and the pole, you have a nice picture. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I noticed the wheel, but we stopped on the side of the road for a moment to let everyone get caught up from taking the corners, so I decided to take a picture. I wish it weren't overcast either, but that's how Kentucky is most of the time.

What they said, + the car is not the "Star" of this shot. The way it's cropped, it's part of a pic with a junky background. You "Saw" the hills, & thought "Hills... cool!". I see hills + pole + junky piles of something + nice looking car.
Cropping, cloning, & darkening the junk will make it a nice shot. Good start, though. Keep at it! ;)

Nice car! 8) I'd love to see the view from the right side of the car. ;)

wheels are turned the wrong way, car is compositionally out of position

lighting is good, no shadows are a plus

Thanks for the advice. I'll take more time next time when taking a shot like this. It's not like I set anything up for this shot. We were stopped on the side of the road with about 5 cars and I grabbed my camera and took a picture because I thought it was a different background than usual.

I forgot to say so in my first post, but I definitely like the lighting on the silver paint. Very nice. 8)
