Has anyone here used tokina lenses? Interested in the 100-400mm or 100-300mm lens and 11-16mm

Yes, many people do. In general they are well built but you really need to ask about a certian lens. Hard to compare brands in general.

Welcome!

I have the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 and love it. Well made, really good image quality and it is the only f/2.8 ultra wide zoom for Canon APS-C cameras. The only complaints are very minor:
+ The zoom ring turns the wrong way compared to my canon lenses (slightly annoying, but so what)
+ There is a fair amount of flair if a significant light source is in, or just outside, the frame.

But I agree with gasrocks, the question is too general. Take a look around the board and use the search tools. There is always a search button near the top of every page to search the entire forum. There are more refined search buttons to search just a particular sub-forum or thread.

I'd start here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=33
with the 'search this forum button' just below the page count.

The now older Tokina 80-400 was a bang for the buck lens. A little soft at 400 but perhaps a deal.

The Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 is an outstanding lens. It's also reasonably priced and built like an L which is more than I can say for its Canon counterpart.

and built like a tank. I liked it better than my L glass. Sadly it had to go when I bought my 5D.

I feel I need to chip in this thread, since I own the following Tokina's:
- 11-16mm f/2.8
- 35mm f/2.8 macro
- 50-135mm f/2.8
- 80-400mm.

They're all great lenses, but the 11-16, 35mm macro and 50-135 are spectacular. They do have some downsides though. The 11-16 and 50-135 can suffer from some flare and sometimes some mild CA (the latter has been easy to remove though).

I would recommend those 3 to anyone looking for similar lenses. Great build quality. Relatively quick and accurate AF.

Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!
