looks like your only using one light? I like the look of the pics and the idea behind the composition , only thing i can comment on is needing a bit more fill light in the top 2 pics

The vertical (backrest?) object distracts from the subjects, the photos are placed too close together without having their own space to breath (top two look like mirrors due to their closeness). As mentioned, the light fall-off is significant and would greatly benefit from a different light position.

If you'd like to use 1 light only, consider getting a larger soft box so you can get some distance from your subjects and maintain softness while having less fall-off. Or incorporate a reflector? Another alternative is to move the light closer to the camera but the negative to that is less shadow depth.

Thanks for the suggestions, the boys dad is in Afghanistan, and won't get a chance to see his new son born on March 1st, for at least 6 months. I figured I'd print this without the cheesy ps mat, and have a frame shop cut a real mat, frame it nicely and send it to him to hang in his office. He's an Army Chaplin.
