Okay, I am pretty sure that I should be saying no to my client on this request, but since I have never had such a request before I thought I would ask if it is appropriate.

My client is having some portrait photos done for personal use (non-commercial). These photos require another model to be involved in "prop" capacity. The shoot requires my Client to be in various stages of undress, where as the model will remain fully clothed.

The client would like to email the Model prior to the shoot, but I have personally never met the client, and I feel a sense of having to protect the model's privacy.

We have arranged that all 3 of us will meet for a coffee in a couple weeks so everyone can get comfortable with each other. I would think at that point the Model can decide to provide her email if she wishes.

So I think my response to the client should be, that I can't give out the model's email without her permission as it is a matter of privacy. However when we meet in a few weeks if she is comfortable in providing to him, she can so so herself.

So what do you think? reasonable?

thanks in advanced

Why not just let the client know that you'll pass his request and contact information on to the model and wash your hands of it. Or, simply ask the model if she minds you giving out her personal information to the guy.

I agree. Tell him you will blindly forward anything he likes, and return the favor in the other direction. Once you have met and there is some understanding then all channels are open. But to protect her privacy, and to protect your ability to understand what the client is brainstorming, you should be in the middle for now.

Being a model myself I would much rather be asked by my manager if I minded my info being passed along privately. If a model is under you then you are in charge of all communications and setting up meeting times, photoshoots etc. Especially in a case where your model will be photographing with undress, there are a lot of weirdos out there, so ask your model, then reply to your client and either give the info, or tell him sorry as the models manager you deal with all things related to your models including client communication.

That shoot sounds sketchy - sounds like the client is trying to get close to the model or something funky. I would be the pass through.

Did you find the female model? You don't want to put your rep on the line for this client....

dagwag77, yah that was what I was kind of thinking....

The female model is someone I have worked with before, and is a great fit for the shoot so I suggested her. The Client is someone I have never worked for before.

I am not sure of the Client's motives for wanting to contact the model, the shoot is very straight forward, besides this client is a pain in the ass, he emails me several times a day over small issues and frankly I am afraid if he starts emailing with the same frequency he emails me, she will be creeped out.

The Model is on vacation right now, so I think I can delay dealing with his request until we all meet, and she can decide at that point if she wants to give out her email address to him.
