Took this today, they are buds on a cactus. How is it? What should I do?

Bottom=After

Also I am using Lightroom, to edit these. I like the feel to that program more so than Aperture or Photoshop.

Hmm I guess I'm also noticing there isn't a real strong focal point..

After is better, but still not good. Is there anything in focus at all?

I agree, everything seems out of focus and under exposed.

Poor poor overall. Nothing seems in focus. If there is a focus point it's very shallow. Maybe you could have gotten in closer with more DOF.

I understand there isn't a very good focal point, I stated that in the original post. If there were, would this have been a good photo?

Can someone do a quick edit to show what should have been done?

Sorry to say that nothing in photo editing I know of can help poor focus except trying again. I find it helpful if my studio is underlit to use a flashlight on the subject while focusing. And as others have said, increase your overall exposure for more pleasing results. Good Luck!

Maybe it could be rescued with selective editing. But your best bet is to re-shoot with better exposure and sharper focus ...
