The Sigma will work nice for pre-wedding shots (the ring, bride, etc) where you have more time but for the actual wedding you really better use the 70-200.

I agree with this. I have the Sigma 85. It's great for pre-wedding formals, bridal portraits, detail shots of the venue, and for the ceremony if you can get fairly close.
