It's $25 a year, and you can have more than 200 images, but the stats are certainly interesting...I sometimes follow the tumblr links to see where my photos are going...I agree, it can be amusing. :)

It can also be a helpful head's up; I've found images of mine that were taken and used for profit, twice now...

Here's a glimpse of what you can expect from the pro stats...as you can see, it won't tell you everything (I usually have 50-100 "unknown" sites each day), but you can certainly see plenty of information, and it's been helpful to me to better understand trends for other sites...

I didn't realize the pro account offered all of that info either (I never really looked into it). I reached the 200 mark a while ago but didn't think it was worth the upgrade just for more space. The analytics makes it worth it though, thanks for the info.

Sure, yeah, it's pretty helpful. you can click on each of the sites (ie: google) and it will tell you someone searched for "Dolce & Gabbana cologne" and your product photo of it showed up...if nothing else, it's intriguing to see what things are popular of yours and, depending on how you use it, can be beneficial information.

^ cool, i'll have to look into that.

quick question for you on the BD again. i see your using it at pretty low power.

do you feel you could get more spread (full body shots) if you pulled it back further and used more light power?

i'm kinda having second thoughts about the 16" silver and thining I should of got the 22" Kacey white BD...

but then again, I LOVE the results you got with yours... i'm just flip flopping right now i guess :(

any thoughts? - what I want is basically the style of light you got. contrasty/punchy. i'm just worried the silver will create hot spots and wont spread enough :(

- oh yeah, and were you using a grid in those shots, or not? sorry to pester

I used mine at lower power because I didn't use a speedlight, but a 320 w/s studio strobe...it uses a different flash bulb that is circular and rests inside the BD, unlike the directional end of a speedlight...A SB-900/580EX II, from what I have tested and understand, runs about 90 w/s, so it's going to be at a lot higher power.

Physically, the light output, in terms of evenness or spread, shouldn't change with the power output of the flash. You should be able to light the whole beauty dish with the flash no problem. I think, if you pull the flash away from the center, you're going to have less hitting the reflective area of the dish, not filling it as much.

The difference between the one you've ordered and the 22" Kacey dish is simply that you may be able get a little more smoothness because it's a bigger light source (less fall off, all else being equal), and a softer look with the white instead of the silver. I went silver because I felt like if I wanted a soft look, I'd use a sock. I eventually also bought a 22" dish and the look is different, but not significantly so, IMO. The white is a little softer/better for feminine shoots generally...

Thanks for the detailed info - you da man.

For my goals (at the moment), I have contrasty/fashion like shots in mind - like what you did, like this: http://blog.americanpeyote.com …nt/uploads/kacey-bd-1.jpg (external link)

(not closeups of beauty/skin shots). So perhaps the silver is the way to go....?
I dont' know. I know what I'll do, I'll prolly be my good ol' OCD self and get both, lol...

If you're looking for contrast, silver is the way to go. I've got the 22" PCB HOBD in silver, and I'm glad I went that way.. If I want to soften it up, I can use the diffusion sock, but it's pretty hard to do the opposite if I had purchased the white HOBD.

To replicate a shot like the one you linked too, a grid for the beauty dish would also be helpful.

The shot I linked was actually done with a 22" Kacey BD, lol.... (i'm going to pull my hair out of my head I swear :))

I guess my last concern is size. Do you know of any 22" silver BD that will work with the Cheeta Speed Pro bracket? I understand I may need an adapter ring also, which I'll get if need be.

You can check with Edward over at Cheetah, but I think the speed pro bracket is a bowens mount? You can use this if that's the case. Any bowens modifier should work, if that is what the bracket supports.

thanks dude, awsome w/ the quick responses!

one last Q - do you know what type of mount the Kacey 22 BD uses? I may wind up wanting to get that and have both silver/white cuz I'm OCD :D

One of the reasons people don't get the Kacey is because of the expense.. It's still cheaper (price wise) than the Mola stuff, but it doesn't come with a bracket.. Just the bracket is ~$140 if I remember correctly. Check on his site, I think they make brackets for everything, especially speedlites. It's quality equipment, just not for my budget.
