Well, our Rofous' have arrived; though they are a week late this year. Its been two weeks since the first one arrived (a male). A credible birder friend of mine did a study a couple years back and discovered that the Rufous on the West coast follow the pussy willow blooms eating insects. Males come first then females follow. There was a direct correlation between pussy willow bloom dates and RuHu sitings in the valleys (where the pussy willows would be located).

There will definitely be more Hummingbird shots posted by me as our weather gets better. :D

Hope you enjoy, CC always welcome.

A pretty shot, Evan. Love the warm colours. Of course when you guys start posting hummer shots, I get very envious as we don't have them here...

Beautiful little bird and great shot of it - the background color and the detail on the gorget is perfect. Really nicely done!

Cheers,
Christopher

Very nice.

Your EXIF data is missing from the picture making suggestions difficult.

Here is the EXIF for those who wanted it. I use natural lighting as much as possible on my shots. I don't like to use flash because it just doesn't look natural to me, just my personal opinion.

Feeder positioned so BG was 50 yards away. BG colors illuminated and caused by sunset. Bird in shade.

In total we have Three male Rufous, One female Rufous, One female Anna's, One male Anna's.
