Decided to give exposure blending another shot since the image I posted yesterday seemed a little bit unnatural to some due to a noticeable exposure difference in the foreground and sky.

Let me know if this looks a little better:

Thanks everyone!

I like it. The image has a good composition, that expresses a beautiful natural phenomenon: A colorful background sky juxtaposed against a colorful rocky foreground that serendipitously share the same color scheme! Your exposure blending helps articulate that, which is why it becomes a very interesting/compelling image to me. The only thing I dislike about the image is that it appears that there is some ghosting in the sky area adjacent the left-most leaning tree trunk.

FWIW, I'm in the anti-anti-hdr/exposure-blending crowd. ;)

I also like the image. I'll echo what the others have said about color of sky and rocks working well together. I am also not a big HDR fan, but the exposure blending works well on this image.

Nice Job!

Thanks guys, Ill fix the ghosting issue by the tree on my local copy. Glad you liked it!

FWIW, Im not an HDR fan either but I do like the look of a nicely blended image from multiple exposures when the dynamic range is too great. But, I dont really like the PROCESS of exposure blending so Im hoping my new GND's can save me some time in that department...

Just to clarify I'm in the anti anti HDR crowd. Meaning I genuinely appreciate the value that HDR brings to the art of photography and am opposed to the hdr-hatin' crowd. ;) I feel that exposure blending permits photographs to achieve something our eyes do quite naturally: resolve a far wider range of exposure values than a camera's sensor. I generally hate HDR images with lots of halos, but that (IMO) is just bad HDR work. Your example doesn't display any halos and if you can edit out the ghosting, you'll have a very well done exposure blend.
