Markins Q3, will it fit in-between?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Feisol CT-3441S, to use with a Markins Q3 Emille that I already have. Anyone tried this combo?
Do you think any of the knobs or the ballhead itself will interfere with the legs of the tripod when reverse-closed?

Thanks
O-Ren

is the Q3Traveler (new version)? if it is, the knobs should be spread apart... if the feisol is similar to the gitzo 1541t, then it shouldn't be a problem..

Nope, it's the classic Q3, marketed as 'Emille'.

It sort of fits. On the older Q3 and the original version of the Q3T the pan locking knob was too close to the main ball locking knob. These knobs need to be 90 degrees apart to properly fit within the reverse folded legs of any of the traveler style tripods. Markins finally got it right with the latest version of the Q3T that came out last fall.

With your older Q3, one of the legs will splay outward a small amount due to interference from the pan locking knob.

But when did you buy it? If it's recent it may have the ball locking knob and the panning knob at a 90 degree angle to each other, in which case you'll be OK.

Looks good! It should fit within the reverse folded legs of the Feisol CT-3441S without any interference.
