I'm still learning this camera and photography in general. I think my daughter is really photogenic, so I wanted to get some pictures of her in a different setting. We have this old abandoned train depot close to us and I thought that would make a great backdrop. We found the wicker bench just laying there and used it as a prop for some of the photos. She was a little nervous sitting on the train tracks since a train had just passed by. I told her not to worry and we had at least 3 minutes before the next one came through. :D I didn't coach her in any way on how to stand or pose, I just clicked pictures while she naturally did her thing. I'm not sure how important it is for the photographer to tell the model how to pose. Just wondering if the post processing is too much. C&C always welcomed. Thanks for looking.

I love the last one. Great work on all of them, what does it for me is the idea of you hauling the big chair out to the railroad tracks :-) Good job on the PP, love the colors, both, the first 2 and last 3 pictures. Great effect!

Thanks! That wicker bench was really old and falling apart. My daughter said she was worried it was going to break when she was sitting on it. :)

Thank you. I took over a hundred pictures at that location and I'm still going through them to find all the keepers. Will post some more when I can. Thanks again.

Nice. The only criticism I'll offer is that the white sweater is blown out in #2&3. I think a little fill light might have helped expose the face and not over do the sweater.

Very nice though. She's a lovely girl.

Thank you to both of you. I agree that the sweater is blown out on those two images, now that you've pointed it out. It's always helpful to have a fresh pair of eyes look at the pictures, especially after looking at them yourself for a couple of hours. My daughter loves all of the pictures except for the one where she is sitting on the train tracks. She says it makes her look too sad. :)

Great series. Beautiful daughter. I am a fan of the looking away shots and I do at least one with each client. With that said, my only nit would be that there is only one with direct eye contact. But that is a nitpick.

I love the last one. Very Very Very nicely done.

Thank you for the kind comments cbknight. I'm pretty sure I have some with direct eye contact. I'll go back through and see if I can find a couple and post them here. All of these great comments from everyone here is truly wonderful and really makes me want to get better.
