Pull the trigger ASAP!!! My new canon 85mm was waiting for me on the porch when I got home today. I love it and I'll be up at sunrise to go out and play. Purchased my lens here (external link)
I registered it online with canon for the warranty.
Go pull the trigger!!!

Never had issues with Adorama. I have also bought from B&H and Amazon. Love them all. The funny thing is I was about to hit the place order key with Adorama and pay the extra $$$$ for expedited shipping and my buddy said "buy from Amazon". I said they are out of stock and the only place that has it is a place called Norman Camera Video. He said "dude buy from them, choose free shipping and you'll have it by tomorrow". I took a chance and sure enough they shipped my product overnight for free. I was EXTREMELY impressed with them.

This lens is amazingly sharp! I bought mine 2 weeks ago so I can take pictures of my daughter playing inside.

Speechless. Great pictures and your daughter is beautiful! Congrats.

Probably the fact that you have to pay for (insured) return shipping yourself.

I lost $35 to this last week when I sent back a crappy Sigma 85.

Whoa ! That's hillarious. Way to go bro !

Amazon offers me this lens for $389.49 as a gold box quickpick deal.

What's a "gold box quickpick deal"?

I actually had very good experience with Adorama.

Hmmm......would you believe free shipping and in stock??

http://www.adorama.com/CA8518AFU.html (external link)

...old

What I'm telling you is that I noticed a difference between Adorama and B&H over time.

If B&H says it is in stock, it is, and it will ship.

If Adorama says it is in stock, it might be, it might not be, but you won't know it isn't until your arrival date comes and goes, then you get told, oh, hey, it will be a few more days.

Now generally that doesn't matter, but when you're leaving on Friday, order on the prior Monday overnight delivery, then you get hosed, it will matter.

That was a few years ago, so, who knows, maybe they fixed it.

And, of course, I'm a sample size of one, so it might just be bad luck.

Yes English is not my native language. But somehow I expected that a person who
bashes a good merchant, for not offering free return shipping to cover his unability to use the lens, to go and look for spelling mistakes. Auf Wiedersehen.

See this thread

It's a bit of a crapshoot, so you may have to be a little patient with it.

I'm more disappointed in Sigma for making inconsistent products. I was just pointing out Adorama's return shipping policy for those that aren't aware; no bashing intended. I've had great experiences in the past (both with Adorama and Sigma).

I can use fast lenses just fine, thanks. When they work properly. Good job taking the opportunity to make assumptions and cowardly jabs at people over the internet. I bet you feel really good about yourself.

English isn't my first language either. ;) Do svidaniya.

It seems to me, recent polls have shown, the sigma issues are blown out of the water... Spend enough days here and you see just as many problems with canon lenses.
