I stumbled upon it today just doing a little research. It said it was used-Like new body only.
It only lasted an hour or so and then it was gone. I actually put my T1i on craigslist to see if I could get 400-500 for it and real quick to buy it. Oh well my T1i still a great camera......The same seller also had a 5D mark ii for $1600 used-like new but thats gone too

I would say they were both scams. No one would sell either of those two bodies for that much.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Well then I'm glad I didn't purchase, because I was real close to even without selling my T1i first...

This is an email below I received from seller after asking how many photos were taken on it and if it also came with box, battery, charger etc. A few minutes after reading this is was sold/gone off the used list...I thought it was kinda weird he wanted to discuss outside amazon

EMAIL:
Hello,
Sorry but I've been getting dozens of messages regarding the camera, so for the sake of my schedule I'll only discuss via email.
Let me know what you need in my e-mail: brooks-a-million(@)hotmail.com
I assure you communication will never be an obstacle between us.
Please let me know asap.
Thank you

Anytime...

Anytime you see an item being advertised for well under the going rate there will be one of two things wrong...

1. The item itself is defective for some reason
2. The entire ad is a scam

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

scam.

We aren't safe anymore.

I listed a WWII 1944 Japanese sword on eBay last week with a 10% donation to Japan and a scammer in China was the high bidder and wanted me to give my e-mail, phone number, paypal, full name and full address.

He said I had to deal with his "friend" over here and that he would pay me.

I contacted eBay and informed them of what was going on, I also informed eBay that he had two non-pay feedbacks for the same issue and eBay took care of it for me but they aren't going to delete the guy right away.

So when I get to re-list my sword in 7 days again (Because they said I couldn't re-list it right way) I still have to worry about the same guy coming and bidding again.

The girl I spoke with on eBay said that they are having a severe problem with China and Nigeria based scams.

But I still get charged fee's for some run around reason.... woo eBay.

I am a Amazon seller, got an email the other morning, lady wanted to buy my camera, big rush, and all of that. I get an email from Amazon saying she has the funds in her amazon acct: ship it to her. Guess where?? Nigeria, lagos. I call amazon and question them, they say do not ship anything unless you confirm it on the amazon site. NO EMAILS by anyone. It was a scam big time.

Amazon will never email any of their sellers to tell them to ship any item. You must go to their site for buyers verification. These scammers are working overtime to rip people off.

Change all of your settings in ebay, stuff like how many times someones had non-payer issues, how many feedback, oh and block his/her user ID.

I deal on ebay but UK only

Definite Nigerian scam,, the phrase "I'm sure communication will never be an obstacle between us." Pure crap, nobody speaks that way except for the scamming Africans. They are just so stupid when they think that we won't pick up on their style of writing in English. If their way of writing sounds too F***ing flowery then it's a scam.

Are you sure the auction winner from China was a scammer? I think you may have overreacted. In China, only well educated people can communicate in English, who are less likely to scam you for a few dollars. You might be dealing with a real collector with not so good communication skills. Just a thought.

African scammers, they are like cockroaches. Post anything of value on craigslist, you will get tons of emails written in African accent.

While this is true, I'd also like to point out that translating a string of text only takes a few minutes with Google.

If u read closely they say to email them before purchase and then you will be allowed to purchase it...I emailed them out of curiosity and in response they said it was a floor display modle and that is why it is cheap and if I sent payment to a certain email via pay pal they will ship out immediately
