Man, this is Miss'ippi. No way would anyone here use ice water. It would have to be sweet tea. . . 8-)

Guess I'm in N'ada.

When I was a kid I lived three doors down from one of Mississippi's most notorious governors. By the time I was old enough to understand, he was out of office and basically retired from politics but I have heard many of the speeches he has given back in those days. When he got excited he would shorten Mississippi in a way where he said the word outright but he slurred one of the "issi's" really bad. I would link to his phone conversation with Robert Kennedy and his brother John about James Meredith on YouTube where you can definitely here him say Miss'sippi . The problem is, that historical phone call is controversial and would be a violation of this forum's TOS in regards to politics.

Suffice to say, my pronunciation of the name of my state comes from that old neighbor.

P.S. I was never one of the kids who put the flaming bags of dog poo on his porch on Halloween night. . . His wife was an absolute saint to us younger kids and she was always the one who answered the door. I would have never done anything to hurt her.

Been to Miss'sippi quite a few times. I love their waffles and fried chicken with some Miss'sippi sweet tea to wash it down. So good.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Nice flash setup. Totally worthy of a Christmas card though I would have put a little tinsel and garland on the flash stands to make it a bit more festive. I mean it just doesn't exude festive.

Where’s Santa, reindeer, snow, elves? I don’t want a Christmas Card with two lights mounted on some tables.

Did your trip here have anything to do with WorldCom?
