Yes, it's tough out there, we can all agree on that.
With that whole Covid thing, it put big demands on us worker bees at my job. I was personally grateful to be in a "essential worker", and not have to face financial difficulties like many others. But it was far from fun with management taking advantage of the situation, day to day at work was the most challenging it had ever been in my 35 years there.
Luckily, retirement was around the corner for me, and I decided to leave 4 months earlier than planned. From what I've heard from fellow co-workers, those four months were treacherous.
Again, I am very fortunate in my situation, others are not.
Hang in there.
We're in the same boat. We started making progress, jobs coming back, life returning to somewhat normal, and now our numbers are climbing and we are looking a shot #3 booster shot. I think Iowa (don't quote me) pretty much was covered by pfizer. Thats what i got, both of them, not just the one. I took out an IRA loan recently to get caught up, and i'm not sure if the state is going to step up with assistance. Just one one thing to sit and wait to see what happens. many of our icu's are closed because the staff burned out in round one. This worries me. Before they sent me home, they added 2 off shore companies to pick up our slack, and there is no word when/if our facility will re-open. With the holidays creeping up, a lot of families are going to be affected. I'm single, with my cat, so we do alright. The states need to make a decision on the masks again. I wear mine when i'm out and about. Not a very happy time around here still. Soon I hope. Very soon.
Stay safe guys!!!!
