I've been looking at the newer bodies out there, and so far some are nice, but I'd never use them for all they can do, and for what I do, I don't need that much camera, and others are just not that impressive to me. The other thing is that they changed the lenses so they only fit the new bodies. I do have an adapter for my Sony that allows me to use my EF lenses, and it works impressively well, but I think the gear I have is the gear I know and the gear I need, so I'll pass on the newer stuff This post also keeps Chet from killing the thread  I'm sort of the same way with the 5DIV. It's ticks off all the boxes I am interested in and the new cameras, though impressive, don't offer anything I need. Even with the 5DIV I am only using a fraction of it's capabilities. My number 1 criteria has always been image quality. Unfortunatly the best image sensors tend to be in the higher end cameras. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
