Any hamsters? I'd find another place to shop. My cat needs to put a couple pounds on. She lost some weight in lock-up I guess. Vet would like to see her add 2 or 3 pounds.

You let one loose in the house. It's like putting treats out.

You can soak dry food in water. I read somewhere online about a cat that did this for herself. The owner (or human caretaker, or whatever term you prefer) saw the cat get one of his daughter's scrunchies from a bedroom, take it downstairs, dip it in her water dish, and water her dry food with it.

I remember doing this. It didn't go over well with the cat I had at the time. I might try it with this cat though. I fed her a little wet food yesterday which ended up being a huge mistake as she kept me up all night meowing and begging for more. I thought the house was on fire or some other disaster, but when I got up, she led me to her food bowl. I seriously have to rethink the canned stuff. It was like Callie on speed. It was the shredded chicken in gravy and she went insane with it. Maybe the pate will be different. Looking back, I never really did feed my cats wet food, but after learning they need the extra hydration as they age, it's something I need to work out.

On a side note...if you don't watch TV, what do you do? If you don't mind me asking...

We're under a Red Flag warning today for fires due to the drought and wind. It's going to be 85 and windy. Rain on Friday, but not enough to eliminate the drought. 80's again tomorrow with wind, so the warning will extend I'm sure. I think we've been dealing with this drought for a few years. My lawn suffers, but the upside is it doesn't need to be mowed nearly as much as usual. My friend in Arizona had the first 90ยบ day, which ended up being in the upper 90's, which to me is too dang hot. For the most part, I'm ok here, although where I lived in Michigan we got lake breezes which cooled things off nicely. I miss those breezes!

Another thing to try is mixing canned and dry food, for a compromise. Meet her halfway.

My media fix comes from Web, radio, and print. There's a lot of TV on YouTube.

Ahhh. Never thought of mixing. I'll give that a try, thanks!

YouTube is addictive. Good choice. I cancelled DishTV and watch OTA now, and supplement the rest with online stuff.

The cat person I talked to made it sound like the animal feed quality has gone down significantly since covid came out. It may look close to what it did, but is severely lacking in proteins and any nutritional substance. I've recently read the chicken feed from some stores having so little protein, chickens were no longer laying eggs.

In 2 days I have noticed my cat no longer spends 70% of his time laying next to his food dish and has not been meowing constantly for food. We always give our cats a mixture of wet and dry.

How does OTA work? Do I need to buy an antenna? What kind of channel selections would I have? I am sure that wil vary greatly at different locations? How would I record different TV shows to watch at a later time?

EDIT: I did not see (with an antenna) since your screen ink is so low...

Just like the old days, you need an antenna. Depending on where you are at, you can get a lot of channels. Here in Dallas, I get about 250. The antennas are small about the size of a place mat. To record, you need a DVR.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I cut the cord quite some time ago when the bills got insane. We have a antenna for the local channels and a bunch of other things like COZI, Movies, some others we watch from time to time. Couple that with free Netflix through TMO, Prime, Free Apple TV through TMO, Youtube, and several other free steaming sites, we have more than we can ever watch. But then, I am a very selective TV viewer usually a bit after my after dinner walk and before bed time, maybe 2~3 hours total. But my MIL watches all day long.
