A post of mine and another were deleted by Jon. I scanned the Rules page and found Article 3.6:

"Political or religious discussions and promotion of political or religious agendas or ideas in posts, signatures, images or avatars is prohibited. Promoting any 'ism or ideology unrelated to photography is not allowed."

I worked at a tech support call center 12 yrs ago and one rule they had for staff was "No discussion about politics, sex, or religion." It really kept things civil and removed much of the cause that typically offends people.

More than a couple of posts. It's well past time that some of you reviewed the rules of behavior for POTN. Following them makes you much less appealing targets for the Title Fairy and for Mod action (which may reach the level of banning, even permanently). Gentle hints seem to go right past you.

I have now read them, agree to them, and see the reasons behind them. You have done your job and I was remiss in reading them previously. I apologise.

I liked this one below:

wow so many forums would benefit from this rule.

*just found a bug - when I typed [EMphasis mine] - the final product insists on capitalising both the E and M despite me using lower case on both... something to do with it in those brackets maybe

I believe I was more guilty than you, Will. I completely ignored the rules, and had my posts deleted as well. I was aware of the rules, I've read them, but I think for me anyhow, I have moments where I completely snap them in two with some of my posts. I will be more conscientious of this in the future. I apologize to Jon as well, as it appears to me that I was part of something that appears to have made him angry, and that is never my intention online or off. I know that intonation cannot always be determined when reading a post, and I know that a Mod's job probably isn't an easy one, so if that is the case Jon, I do sincerely apologize.

Anyways, I have broke rules and I love this Forum so I will not only abstain from wrong conduct but actively continue good conduct (more readily apparent outside this thread )

I enjoy the forum as well, and especially this thread and all who participate...even Moose. I'll do due diligence to make sure I adhere to the rules, too.

As long as we're admitting guilt, I admit, Will and Jay are both guilty as sin.

But all kidding aside, I think Jon's comment was aimed mainly at me, and rightfully so. I've tried reigning it in a couple of times, at least, but seem to fail miserably in these social threads. My apologies (yet again ) to Jon and the other mods, but mainly to members of the forum whom I have offended.
