Possibly Alice's Restaurant, the song and the movie... circa 1969... we're before your time. It's worth a Google.

I just took a closer look at the photo and cropped it. He is standing in front of the printer, he is not looking at the printer...

Hope this helps! :-)

when I think of Detroit I think of Alice Cooper, and tires. Tires being taken off your car at intersections. Not sure why I still have that as a memory...

Incidentally, if you like Cooper - look for the documentary "Super Duper Alice Cooper"

The story I remember from the late seventies is worse similar,

when they showed up in the middle of the night and started to strip your house of aluminum siding to sell for scrap WHILE YOU WERE INSIDE. If you came out to stop them, they just said, "go back inside",. and you'd take a look, and do exactly what they said.

Personally, I found the two previous T-1500 Admins pretty slow on the draw regarding such trivia, and sometimes plain innacurate...
Thank goodness for the T-2000 series...

Yeah. I had no Detroit references... I was just playing around with Alices in my mind and that song jumped in there.

My mind does that, from time to time.

Now, imagine your wife is a boat.

Boats are cheaper
Boats are less trouble
I took my wife to the lake and threw her in; it didn't end well for me.

On the flip side,
A boat can't make a sammich
