What's hump day, is it as rude as it potentially sounds?

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the TF and a camel....

For those who really don't know... it's work related.

On Monday the boss comes around with new ideas and new work assignments.
On Tuesday the boss comes around to check if you understood his Monday stuff.
On Wednesday the boss is in his office, but looking out to check on the busy-ness.
On Thursday the boss is at a meeting all day with other bosses.
On Friday the boss is at the golf course.

So, if a worker can just get over the hump of Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday are a downhill slide into the weekend... Yea !

.... for us old retired farts, it's meaningless

I work at home, with no schedule. The meaning of weekends has dwindled mostly to this: some businesses are closed, and there's no mail delivery on Sundays.

Lucky! I get one HUMP day, and I'm the boss and the previous explanation by Bubbygator is entirely correct.

That is so sad. Sort of akin to working at the North Pole and then trying to get psyched about Christmas...(or, whatever it is, if you do, celebrate)

Actually, it's more like having a week of Saturdays.

I would like that!

I tried to convince my boss one time years ago to let us go to a 3 day work week... Saturday, Sunday and Payday.

He would have nothing to do with it. Go figure!

Ctown brings back memories of a room-mate from there I had in college. We were both card players and we would take on the whole block of our dorm one at a time. One would study and the other would play (for like a penny a point), And if the one who was playing wasn't winning, we would switch - and almost every time the result was that we would win. Changing the "style" of play made a difference. We shared quite a bit of winnings... and didn't lose any critical study time.
