Well, since no one's in a talkative mood...

I saw these on Amazon and they got good user reviews, so I got one. Does the trick; he went from 10 seconds a meal to 10 minutes

Our is a little different but same concept. It has worked out very well for us too. It looks so hard but she manages to get every last bit out of it and scrubs it spotless with her little tongue.

My big dog Grommet was a chow hound (they came from a rescue, so starving was a normal condition)

My solution was simply a large perfectly smooth (egg shaped) rock. Having to work around that was all it took. Not as fun as the "Food Maze" though

Our's is a rescue as well though we got her at 6 weeks old. Seems the place she was rescued from was pretty bad though as she was flea infested and malnourished. I didn't get the whole story but I'm guessing it wasn't pleasant. ANyway, I tried the rock thing as well. She just gobbled around it like it wasn't there. Even tried a couple of them. I was afraid she would just gobble down the rocks.

In our case, the problem was exacerbated by the fact that we adopted TWO starving rescue dogs at once, and thus competition was still in their minds.

Eventually they both settled down on the gobbling. One other trick, after about a year, we started keeping the bowls full at all times,. at which point (after a few over eating episodes) they eventually got the picture that there was no shortage of food.

Another semi interesting tidbit, early on we separated the bowls to opposites sides of the kitchen, giving each there own space, and yet now, 4 years later, they have no sense of territory or preference as to which bowl they eat from, they are about 50/50.
