Ok smart ass, nice edit. I should've used "quote" but that uses up lots of screen ink. I know the participants in here will know who to believe. :-D

I will be your witness as I also saw the word bight!!!!!

I'm a bit of a doughnut purist. I like the traditional ones, jelly filled ones, custard one and such. Not a big fan of the maple bacon doughnuts and lot of the other fru-fru ones.

One of the unique things here in Texas is that a lot of doughnut places sells the doughnut body (yeast doughnut or cake doughnut) then you have it filled to your liking. Kind of freaked me out when I first moved here and could not find a jelly doughnut anywhere. Then I was enlightened that you buy the doughnut and get it filled any way you like. Kind of nice to get a long john, fill 1/2 with some fruit filling and 1/2 with custard. It sort of mixes inside the doughnut. First bit is all fruit or custard, next few bites is a mix of the two and the last one is all fruit or custard again. Also, you can ask for an extra squirt of the filling if you like it that way.

And fried pies, does that count as a doughnut? They are totally awesome.

This is killing me! . I grew up with fresh doughnuts, but now live in a place where they don't exist. . I think the closest place where I can get a fresh-made doughnut is Wenatchee, which is a two hour drive from here. . Hmmmmmmm......maybe I'll call in and take the day off.............would be a good day for a long drive, with "doughnuts" as my destination.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

When I was a kid into my 30's or maybe 40's there was a bakery in town that made THE BEST EVER donuts and cakes.. oh how I miss DeBoni's donuts! It was a mom and pop kind of place but when Jim DeBoni retired other family member's tried to keep the business going but struggled then finally had to close.

No one else has ever made any donuts or cakes as good as Jim DeBoni could make them......
