Had a fun day out with Jay Beckman (external link) at the Luke Air show...weather wasn't all that bad. He was nice enough to let me use his 300L F/2.8 for the day. DROOL!

I hated the skies... very flat.. no good clouds... grayish...

So... went with a high contrast black and white series.

Let me know what you think... and thanks for looking.

Looks good. I never have good luck with the skies at airshows. Either the performers are backlit or its cloudy and gray.

Many thanks!

I've only had really blue... nice skies once.... as you mentioned.. most of the time... really bad.

Thanks again,

Hatch - It was good to meet you yesterday. I've always been a fan of your portrait work and your talent clearly transfers to other venues. I especially like how you've made the best of the crummy lighting conditions we had. The high contract b&W really made lemonade out of lemons. Great job.

BTW; did you get to take Jay's 300 home with you :D

Very nice stuff. I'd clone the pole out in #4.

Nice to meet you as well Jeff and thanks for the Kudos. :) Had a look at your Flickr page..great shots from the afternoon. I sadly had to return the 300...almost cried a little... and my camera is in protest...it won't be the same. LOL Fantastic chunk of glass to say the least. Thanks again!

Nice work, that almost makes me want to break out some FP4 and do it the old fashioned way, maybe I should get myself an old 35mm body and some darkroom kit and really have a go at it again.
