The closest lighthouse to us is in St. Augustine but after a hurricane in the 60s, it's no longer on the coast.

It's an odd sight... a lighthouse so far from the ocean.

You should use your telephoto to take a picture of it!

North Breakwater Light , Ludington ,MI. 10-27-13 NOAA had predicted 50+ mph winds with waves 18 - 20'. Loaded up the 400mm and made the 4 hour ride north. All hand held and sittin in the car.

Thanks Andrew, Really a unique lighthouse. Beautiful town and Ludington State Park has one of thee nicest campgrounds I've ever been to. Also Big Sable Lighthouse is a 1 mile hike north of the campgrounds.

No the steps are there they were just out of frame. We hit this lighthouse on 10/17/13.
