Technically only refers to the cape itself, which is on Hatteras Island. The whole stretch is referred to as "The Outer Banks."

same evening, there is a short hike from the parking lot to the lighthouse, then we drove down 101 toward home and stopped and snapped the 2nd at a pull out

I am amazed that Oklahoma City needs a lighthouse. It must be to help with the massive submarine traffic.

Amelia Island light is hard to shoot since it is surrounded by private property/yards.

I snuck in one Sunday morning and got this shot.
