Interesting paint design.

Both beautiful.
Interesting I gather both have their own grave(s).

Often lighthouses are remote, lonely areas the keepers become attached to. Their last resting place on home turf.

This is one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. It's East Point Lighthouse along the Delaware Bay in New Jersey.

It would be a nice grave for one of the keepers but that isn't the purpose of the cross. It was erected by the island owner "in memory of St Dwynwen Jan 25th 1465".

Fascinating. Thanks Phil. I 'toured via Google'
Certainly rich in history I imagine.

The stories embedded in these lighthouses yet alone those lonely coasts.
Brr. Makes one shudder.
I still remember the feeling standing on beach at site of wreck of Cataraqui on King Island. 400 lives lost. Sobering is just one word for it.
I've always been fascinated by lighthouses. That day made it more real.

Keep the lighthouses coming.

Following on from my previous post. This is the same lighthouse at South Gare, an image made in 2013. I shall title this image "It's in there Somewhere" But feel free to suggest an alternative title.

Exif, ISO400, f6.3, 1/3200sec.

Very dynamic shot. Not sure what might be a better title. Keeping your head above water maybe? Was it stormy out when you shot this?
Nice capture. :-)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.
