In the photo above there are some people sitting on the rocks looking at the cruise ship I was on. Look at the very top of the lighthouse and to the left.

I shot that at 400mm from a scenic overlook on Highway 101, so I wasn't really all that close. I was with a few other POTN members at the time, two of whom (puddlepirate44 and Permagrin) went back a week later to visit the lighthouse in person. You can find a few much closer photos of it in two of Puddles' posts here and here.
