Well - have a question which I'm not sure if you can help out with. I would basically like to insure my gear. To add to that, I'm currently planning a trip to Central America and the fact that theft seems to be constantly mentioned as something to watch out for has me a bit worried. For me, going there without the camera is also not an option - might as well just stay at home!
The problem? While I'm sure for most of you it's perfectly normal to have photography equipment insurance, it's non existent over here. I've asked around, but none of them insure you on photography equipment (and laptops...) that cost more than 300 EUR combined when travelling. They all try to offer home insurance and all that but to be able to afford it I would probably have to sell off half my gear.
Anyway, the question... Are you aware of any company in Europe that can insure your gear to foreigners? I'm not sure if this is entirely possible of course, but thought I'd ask?
