I am primarily a software developer with the occasional web and image editing job thrown into the mix. With the demise of the original NEC 2940, I don't know what would be the perfect monitor for someone like me. Is the version 2 (2490wuxi2) without the A-TW polarizer really as bad as people make it out to be?

The NEC EA261WM sure looks tempting. Any thoughts on that unit? It may be wide gamut which I consider a negative for the time being.

It seems that most new 24" color accurate (IPS paneled) monitors being rolled out are wide gamut.

Have you looked at the HP ZR24w?
