I took my new 100-400L out to the nearby pond, from which the ice is nearly completely gone. As I had hoped, I saw a few mute swans and grabbed this shot. 7D using a 100-400L lens at 235mm. 1/3158 sec, f/8, ISO 400. Later in the day I microadjusted the lens, so the focus on this one is close, but not quite spot on. Uncropped photo.

As always, C&C welcomed.

Great exposure. Very nice job of keeping detail in the white feathers!


Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever! ;)
