I like the lighting in both of them as well as the angles. What lens were you using? Is that Jet Airways an Airbus A310? We don't get many A310's down here in NZ if any..

I also think that it would be better if zoomed in more or didn't clip the wings off.

Wow - I do a fair amount of spotting at Pearson, but I don't recognize this angle. Were you inside the actual airfield for these?

Nope, through the fence. Planes were taxiing from the terminals to Runway 06L. Most people there were shooting from a head on position, but I prefer getting the side of the plane so that you can see what airline it is.

I would suggest trying to become a member of Airport Watch (external link), who are a group of volunteers charged with observing, recording, and reporting any suspicious activity. They operate independently from any official security activity. The members do not have any authority, either under the airport authority or any police or security organization, to take action on their own accord should suspicious activity be observed. They will be identified as members of the YYZ Airport Watch Program by an issued membership card.

IMHO, the shots without the clipped wings are better. Good work!! As soon as the weather gets better at ORD, I plan to get out and take a few photos myself!! All you airport photographers are inspiring me!!!

+1 on the clipped wing crops being better.

i find that with a lot of the larger airliners you end up with way too much dead space if you include the entire wingspan. there are exceptions of course, like the Jet A330... that one works with the clipped wings or without.

that's just my $0.02.
