Just another flower shot, did minor pp on this one. Exposure adjustments and a bit of cropping.

I'm no expert but I really like it! The seperation from the background is good as well as the composition and the colors really seem to 'pop.'

I like it. One thing I am not big on with this photo is the backdrop. The bokeh is fine, but the colors in the background don't really allow the great color you got in the flower to show itself off. That would be my only criticism.

How would you suggest fixing that? Could it be fixed in post?

I think your light is too harsh resulting in too much contrast. And the BG is very busy. Together they make for a very unsettling picture for me, and flowers should be relaxing.

The light is too harsh. If you want great flower pictures, you need to shoot when you've got diffused light (cloudy but bright) or bring something to diffuse the light. WHen theres' too much contrast between the light and dark parts, it loses the appeal. That's just a general statement, but I think it applies to this picture.

I think you captured the flower perfectly...but I am not a fan of the background. That center leaf is distracting. I wish the background was more uniform.

Other than that...great job!

I changed the white balance a bit. I'm no expert though, so maybe it's wrong:

What did you change the white balance to?
