Just tools sports fans... What should be sexy are the images who cares what tools look like. Sexy paint brushes and chisels :lol:

Cameras are a way to capture a vision not an accessory like shoes or a pair of earrings   I guess if you think of a camera like its an accessory then it shows where your priorities are.

I completely agree. It is a tool and functionality is what counts.
But that doesn't mean you can't appreciate the inherent beauty of that tool.

Technically this is still a car (I think:confused:). It will get you where you need to go. But wouldn't you prefer something that you could also enjoy aesthetically?

It's definitely a personal thing, but I prefer Nikon's D3000/D3100/D5000 to the Rebels, and the xxD/xDs over their Nikon equivalents.

nope, I also don't like their user interface. The position of my forefinger on the Canon is better and more relaxed and natural.

Nikon does feel better in hand but I prefer the look of canon bodies, they look stronger.
Nikon's lenses is more expensive as well.

I didnt play with it at all, just in my hand. warm, soft, not the cold hard canon.

and zeiss lenses are cheaper

Nikon for film, Canon for Digital.

I dumped them both in the 80s for leica. leica R's sucked so I couldn't justify 9k for a kodak digital back. bought canon for 1Ds and L lenses. most of which are overly hyped. I use almost all zeiss with 5D2's. maybe I'll wait for the 1Ds4.

I like the rubber but damn I did not like that front wheel thingy. Felt awkward. And I had no clue how to do anything. I am like noob when it comes to nikons.

sorry, not keeping up -- huge jet lag.
after a month with a 5d2 in my hand, this d300 was joyous. yeah, yeah, it's a tool. but you have to be an ape not to be sensitive to feel. I don't know about the rest of the ergonomics, but what I felt was nice. way nice. I dont use the stupid battery grip anymore because 1) it just holds a battery after all, and 2) I never used the second trigger anyway. I use the canon wrist strap attached to a rrs l-bracket. gives me the freedom to let loose.

Whenever I handle Nikon cameras I get the impression that they are well made, but I prefer the look and feel of Canon. I used to shoot Nikon 35mm before I got into Medium Format, but bypassed Nikon DSLR's because only Canon had a magnesium body in the 20D. I've stuck with Canon ever since.

The D300 and D700 are amazing to hold/use. Fast learners won't mind having to get used to different ergonomics. The D300 always was an amazing camera to use and always will be. Personally, I'm hoping I can get my hands on a D90 before they're sold out. I had a couple of shoots with one a few weeks ago and I left each time with a smile on my face, it just felt fun to use.

When I head over, I REALLY want the cookies! (I've heard they're Oatmeal Raisin... all I got with Canon was a sick camera that won't stop sneezing :( )
