Most people on a predominantly Canon forum prefer the feel of a Canon...imagine that :p

For our next trick we will be going to the Honda forums and ask what car they prefer to drive...

I think they generally fit in the hand nicer, but I don't like the interface/controls as much.

QFT.
Very nice ergos (although I love the Mk IV's ergonomics) but gah, their menu system and button layout sucks a55)

I do NOT like Nikon pro/prosumer ergonomics and layout. I DO like the rubber they use on the grips more though.

They feel more solid, but the ergonomics is not there for me.
Not to mention the control and menu system.
I was shooting a concert and a guy next to me asked me how to change mode to A or P.
His was D300, and I can't find the mode dial as the usual big dial in Canons.
If the owner can't figure it out, how can I? LOL

Cheers! :D

I prefer the grip and feel of Canon, even after many years the body grip still feels new.
While the Nikon one will get softer and sometimes feels sticky and difficult to clean.

For focusing and burst shots, Nikon is much superior to any Canon.
Unless you compare to the Canon 1D series.

The guy had either never used the camera before or was an idiot.

Honestly once you've used a Canon or Nikon for awhile the controls and menus for either system are perfectly fine. I can see how someone can have a preference of one over the other, but neither system is lacking, both work perfectly well and both are just as easy/fast to use.

I totally agree. When ask someone who are used to Canon system, EOS, or simply coming from Canon's P&S, they will prefer Canon menu, button layout & ergonimic. No surprises there. People like what they are used to better.

Now go to a Nikon forum and ask the same question, see what they prefer better.

you must be in love with red dots. I've had a lot of leicas and they're 80% hype at 400% markup.

No, no, a thousand times no. I have really wanted to like a few Nikons because of their feature sets, but when I use them I can't stand it. Terrible feel and control layout, IMO.

FWIW, I'm not just Canon biased. I think Olympus makes the best feeling bodies, but I can't stand their lens options or sensors.

of all the DSLR cameras that they have got lined up in Fry's only Canon and Nikon feel good in my hand. Almost like they had asked me to form the body grips for them! If i didn't buy the 4/3 camera i would have just got a Nikon D3000/7000 to try out. Hmm, but it's hard to sell anything beside Canon's in this forum.

Body: Canon 5Dc, (Coming soon <<<6Dc, maybe I shall wait for 6Diic with TouchScreen!).
Other Favorite Camera:
Flash: YN560
Lenses: change all the time!

And that M9 feels rubbish in your hands.

Meh @ Leica. Would rather a D3s.

hehe I lost count of how many Canon vs. Nikon (... or Nikon vs Canon, whatever order "you, the reader" want to put it)

But I always find myself clicking on these threads first before everything else

Anyways, back to topic... +1 for Canon just because I like the feel of it, I probably would've said +1 for Nikon if I started using Nikon 2 years ago

I'm just "used" to the Canon feel because I started with Canon dslr
