The main flower is underexposed or rather, too much of it is underexposed...the background too bright. Would be better with a darker BG and more evenly exposed flower.
Side note ....the diagonal blue signature is quite distracting for me.

I've got the same comments as Spike, but in addition to that I'd like to put that the composition is very plain and very uncreative. Remember that a good place to start for composition is the rule of thirds. This flower is dead center and it makes the image scream "look at this flower I have, I'm not a photographer". But you are one, so let loose and use your creativity! :)

Pointing the camera downwards onto a flower is great if you want to get all those folds of the petals in, up close.but for interest, get to the level of the flower, try different angles and light.

I guess I was so taken in by what I saw staright away and wanted to shoot it "Before it went away" - I thought I WAS at the same level as the flower when I clicked the shutter

I like it, great 3d effect but I would agree that the shadows are a little blocked.
