They didnt want a "normal" engagement session

I would like to introduce you to Lara and Albert. After their consultation, they told me they didnt want a "typical" engagement shoot. They are at the age where all of their friends are getting married, and they quickly became bored with the same shots they were seeing. Hopefully I was able to give them something a little different.

I'd probably clone out the crouching flash-holder.

#8 is real nice! Props to the bride-to-be for being able to hold still as well as she did. Her leg moved ever so slightly (the phantom shadow) but nonetheless excellent shot.

All the other shots are nice too - but none really jump out like #8 did for me.

#3 is awesome.

#3 is epic.

great set, would just recommend telling your subjects to beware of the "fish lips" when kissing.

- Great job managing flash power with ambient on #2; I especially like that one
- Is that the natural sky in #3?; truly stunning
- I'd try to clone out the assistant's leg in #5, though this would probably be a bit difficult
- I really like #6 but think either more separation from the background or a wider aperature might have made it stronger; just enough to soften the background only a little
- I love #8; the timed exposure, the off camera flash; it all comes togther for a beautiful and imaginative portrait.

Good point, and I should have said something, but I guess since we werent going for the super "romantic" shots I felt this sort of worked for them.

They have just seen too many couples on the beach or at the park and wanted something a little cooky. I have more on the blog with them on bumper cars, the roller coaster, and miniature golf.

#2 worked out really well. That was one of the first shots I got with the setup. I added other aspects and nothing really worked as well. Plus, it was super hard to focus.
#3 is the natural sky. Obviously I bumped the darks and shadows down, and upped the saturation a bit, but i didnt clone anything in. Its great what a little PP can do. I was really bummed about the sunset being fairly boring, but it turned out nicely.
#5. Yup.
#6. I dont know what I was thinking. Looking back on it, I brought too much ambient in and really didnt hold the pop I wanted. I am thinking because I wanted more of the lights in the background, the rest bled in.
#8. Thank you. It was sort of a "hey, lets try this" and really liked how it turned out.
