A Quick Little Set

The "Moon" thing came up this weekend, which brought back some memories of an afternoon I spent around Mount St. Helens, the active volcano near me in Washington State, and where I stayed through the sunset:

Late afternoon, watching the sun growing lower across the mountain:

Backing off, so that one could see the total devastation that sorrounds the volcano, 30 years after its explosive erruption:

As it got late, just bits of the setting sun touched the mountain peak:

I headed out, but the sunset colors caught my eye at a nearby lake:

And then I couldn't help to stop and take note as the sliver moon was setting along with the setting sun:

And, at the same time, looking over my shoulder, St. Helens was in the "Blue Hour" after sunset, showing just a bit of itself:
