Self portrait...

Portraits have never really been my thing especially having mine taken... but I needed a portrait to go on a website and as I have some off camera flash gear lying around that has never really been put to good use I thought I'd have a go at a low key self portrait.

Surprisingly I actually enjoyed it and thanks to the strobist blog (which I read about 3 times) I think I finally learnt something about lighting as well.

anyway I still need to pick one of these and as they all make me cringe a bit I need some help choosing...

I guess it all matters what the purpose of the portrait is. I get 3 different feelings from each of the photos.

Nicely done. I really like the framing/pose in #3.

It's going to be used on a gallery website and my own website... about the photographer type stuff

i too like #3....but #1 grabs it for me. The eyes, both right at you, clear, sharp, pulling you in. Good self portrait my friend.

Thanks for all the comments... I used #3 in the end as I think it was the most suitable but #1 is the one I prefer
