Hi, I shot a ssries for a jewelry company and despite that they are thrilled with the results I am NOT with the reflections, the product only shots are ok, could control reflections on all but one item to my liking, but with the models, it was a nightmare to light her nice, but also take account of reflections. does anyone have any experience to share on this? especially number 2 was problematic.

and pls feel free to CC away, would love to know what all think of this.

Heya Chef!!!! I see you have moved from food to models!
I think the last one is fabulous, the shadows really playing a part in the scene itself.

She doesn;t look very thrilled in that first photo( saying first because there is a blue box above her)

I'm willing to be wrong, but I think you need a CPL and possibly polarizing filters for the light sources, too.

So, I think your question is really best suited for the lighting area of POTN.

Flo you are mighty quick!

ok will fix the true first pic. the one on white, forget about her looks, how to control reflections on the jewelry, it doesnt look good at all!

this image was my fav of the shoot due to her arrogant look and the colors all complementing each other.

Image number two. You are attempting to light two "subjects" with the same exact lighting, and the lighting that is perfect for the model is not the lighting that is perfect for the necklace.

This is my suggestion. Get the necklace back and photograph it inside a light tent positioning it at about the same angle that it is on the model. In Ps swap the "bad" necklace for the new good one.

Unfortunately i do not have any experience with this, but diffusing light sources (or bouncing them) and eliminating others would be my only thoughts. Covering windows, shading over head lights, things like that. The last photo you put up is simply superb by the way; her shoulder/neck lines are fantastic!

Rather than trying to make the model dramatic, & for consistency in the product, I'd try a version of a tent to make the jewelry look as good as possible. So white reflectors at top, bottom, L & R sides.
Leave the back open to show the background, & you could still put some hot lights on her to spice her up a little.
