I am a lens addict i just started getting into photography as a teen but found out that this is not a cheap hobby. i have spent all my money that i have and just want more lens(no thanks to the Lens Sample Photo Archive). I think i might have a disease. So if there is a lens you want really bad and would die for it post it here. I don't have a lot of people that i know that know anything about what a camera is so its fun to see what other people think.

Well here i go
200mm f/2
50 f/1.2L
10-22
(thats all i put or i might just list every one)

My parents think i'm such a nerd for liking to do this so much.

Canon 200mm f2
Canon 85 L f1.2 II
Canon 24mm f1.4

I'd kill for those 3.

Same three for me Hans.

Might switch in the 35L though for the 200.

1200mm L
800mm L
600mm L mk II

I am pretty sure those are Canon's 3 most expensive lenses... 3 lenses I will never own... lol

I'm trying to break the L addiction by going Zeiss. But seriously, this hobby has kept me sane in this insane world and that is money you can't buy.

i'll be honest and admit i am playing on the dark side as far as canon shooters go, but here are my thoughs. so long as you meet your other financial obligations, go for it dude, what ever makes you happy. i know a 15 year old kid that flys his dad's light aircraft. his parents logic is that while he is doing something constructive with his time so be it. maybe a little off topic but it seems you have found a good hobby. run with it mate, you can do far worse and far more expensive things with your recreational time

I'll take an EF 50mm f/1 L, a Leitz Noctilux f/0.95, all the schneider and zeiss lenses made for the rollei 6008 system, throw in an Elcan-M 90mm f/1 (even though i've never seen a picture taken with it), the 2 zeiss lenses (50mm and 36mm)that they used to shoot Barry Lyndon at f/0.7 and a camera to mount them on, uhhhh, I'm sure there's a lot more but I'd say this list is a good start.

Been there, done that. My only advice would be to go minimalist and specialize. You don't really need every single L covering every single mm of FL. Give it some time till you discover what types of photography you enjoy the most and get the best lens you can for that particular genre. I love portrait photography so I bought the 85L II plus 35L for walkaround/general people photography. Sold everything else. Sure I used to take a few macros once in a while, and even had some 0.3% of my pictures at 200mm, but I gave that up so I can concentrate and excel at what I like best, rather then being mediocre at everything. Not looking back, and the lens lust is pretty much gone.

Its called GAS ( Gear aquisition syndrome) Happens to alot of people new into a hobby (not just this hobby) wanting only the best and not knowing what they really need. Wanting and needing are totally different things, so be carefull not to overspend going blindly. This hobby aint cheap. Get into a shooting style you like then go from there. Good luck and remember, the gear is only a quarter of this hobby. Keep shooting and have fun.

So true. I am an addict too. But lately I have realized more and more that I do not need every L-lens. I love having my 50L with me. I just would like to have the 85L for portraiture and keep my 24-70 for random landscape photography. But my 70-200 4L and the 100L? I am not sure I need them.

LBA - Lens buying addicted :-)

I go the cheaper way and work with manual lenses.

Got my EF 50/1.2L alternative, a Minolta Rokkor 58/1.2 as a deal for ~ 110 Euro, DIY converted it to EF mount.
My FD 300/2.8L has fungus and cost me ~ 800 Euro :-/ Conversion was not easy.
FD 85/1.2L for 420 Euro, conversion pretty hard.

But the bright side:
These lenses are not only cheaper than the EF ones, I have no desire for EF lenses!
And even the dream FD 800/5.6L cost "only" ~ 1400..2000 Euro. And my nearer dream, a FD 24/1.4L cost ~ 500 Euro - and probably become true this year.
