All the vendors do is sell the product. If you bought the product legally from China, there isn't anything that you can sue for. If Canon chooses to have their parts manufactured in China, they assume all the risks of China's law. Which is why Paul Buff is boiling over the PLM stuff.
Not true. The FTC seizes tons of knockoff purses, golf clubs, and fake ipods each year (most are imported from china). The difference is trade dress. Buff is mad at the copies of the PLM but they are not direct knockoff's as they do not trade on his graphics or mounting designs, and he cant really patent the concept of a large umbrella.
