A few shots from this weekends games. We re well into soccer and baseball for the spring.

All shot with the Canon 1d Classic, shot with the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 and the 100-300 f4. ISO was 200. All Exif can be found on the flickr page

Let me know what you think.

2, 5 and 6 are my favorites... very sharp and color is wonderful.
The sharpness is really great in 7, the kid with the yellow jersey hair is off the hook! you can see/make out every strand clear as bell.

Sharp and well exposed. The parents would love them. Good job.

Great pictures, which Sigma 70-200mm lens did you use?

Check the horizons in some of them. The goal post in #1 and #5 aren't straight.

Good timing on a lot of these. As mentioned before, make sure you fix some of the horizons. #3 is a bit underexposed, you might try bringing out the shadows a bit.

The HSM Macro. Not the new one with OS. Previous generation.

When I tried to bring out the shadows, I lsot detail in her face. I'll play with it some more and see what I can.

I can see the posts are off a bit. Will correct them when I go to print them. The field setup is a tough one. There is a huge down slope and side slope depending on where you are standing.

But the horizons are definitely fixable.

Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming.

Great Pictures. I am debating which one to get new Sigma 70-200 OS EX HSM or Canon 70-200 F2.8 MkII.

I can vouch for the HSM Macro as well. Almost all of the stuff I've shot (indoor sports, at least) was with that lens. $$ was a big deal when I got it, and it was what I would regard as one of the best investments I've made. It's paid for itself probably about a dozen times over at this point.

I agree Tony. The SIgma has not let me down since I bought it, and money was the concern for me then as it still is now. I shoot all Sigma glass and I have been a happy camper with all of it. No regrets here!

Now the new Canon is excellent. If I had that kind of money, I would probably go Canon. BUt I don't so I look for alternatives.

The new Sigma is excellent as well. Maybe a hair below the Canon. But both are so damn expensive. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. They will both perform for you. Depends on the money you have imo.
