I'm considering getting some lenscoat covers, but I might well upgrade my MII 2*TC to an MIII at some point in the not too distant future and I don't want to invest in one set of coats only to need another later on. Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

Are they also the same diameter? Far as I can see the height wouldn't be a problem for lenscoats. From these photos, the color seems to have changed. I've read the new extenders better match the new super telephotos which are more white (blue) than the older ones which were more earthy toned. If the older extenders are mounted to the new lenses, is the color difference quite noticeable? The newer lenses are more of a grayish white than a beige/putty white of the older lenses. You need to see them side by side to really tell. I have a UY0500 (May 2010) 70-200mm 2.8 IS II that is the older color. I don't know if newer versions of the same lens have the newer color.
