Couple of newbie attempts...

I actually don't have a macro lens. These were taken using the "poor mans" method of a mounted 85 1.8 with a backward 50 1.8 held in front of it.

That first one looks pretty good to me, better than what I would have imagined from the method involved. Did you manually hold the 50mm in front or do they make adapters?

Manually holding for these. The front of the 50 nests nicely in the front of the 85. I have gaffe taped them together before though when I did a couple of other macro shots.

I know they make adapters to reverse the lens, or you can DIY with a cheap UV filter and a body cap. I prefer this because it lets me actually have some control over the DOF by changing the aperture of the 85.

Youve done bloody well to shoot these the way you have. Love the 1st one.

Thanks! Here's one more I did with the same set up. Seems to be working quite well, though I do want to invest in a true macro lens eventually.
