Hey...

I am quite EX-CI-TED!!! :) I ordered yesterday my first lens: a Tamron 28-75 F/2.8
I can't wait that it arrives...

But now i have a couple of questions that i hope you guys, with much more experience, can help me with.

When i get the lens, how can i test it to see if i got a good copy?
Off course i can just take a couple of pictures in different focal lengths and apertures and see how they look like.
But are there any "Standard Tests" or some kind of more accurate way to do it?

How do you test your lenses when you get them?

Thank you so much for your help.
=)

i take pictures...if you find that you're not liking the outcome then review your settings, and if something seems wrong then take test pictures...

Enjoy your new lens and please, do not assume there is anythign wrong with it. Very , very few lenses have issues.

you go looking for defects in your images, you will find them, but in real world use
you may never see them, 90% is user error 10% is hardware error

And now here is one of the first pictures i took with this lens (with a Canon 400D).
