I love the "nifty-fifty"! For this sort of work the low-light slow focus isn't a problem - don't you agree? How do you like your 18-55 for these kinds of shots? For all the criticism it gets, I find it to be a pretty good lens for some uses. Kevin

Jan 26, 2011 21:28 | #3040 personally, I like it. An ND filter will only help so much. The only hot spot is on the water, anyways. I really love the colors and mist. If you wanted to and have the raw files, you can probably lower the exposure and up the gamma on the water where the sun hit it, but to a certain extent. Otherwise, it's good. If anything, I would change the crop so that you could either see the sun or not see it at all, as it stands it seems like you can see the lower part of it just peeking into the frame. - Ilya
