Part of its strength - IMO - is in the fact that the composition itself stands on its own without the embellishments of intense color. The dreamy foreground water is a wonderful contrasting canvas for the stark black piers, and the subtle blues are a wonderful counterpoint to the red sunset, just showing a little bit of reflection, enough to intrigue your interest. You also didn't choose to make the setting sun intensely radioactive as some have done here. It's a good example of "less is more."
